Mr Andrew William Kiel
Consultant Ophthalmologist
Ipswich Hospital and
The Suffolk Nuffield.
I see a number of patients who are uncertain at what stage they should seek medical advice about their cataracts and, even more importantly, who need to know more about the condition and the pros and cons of the various types of surgery surgery. I have set up this website to provide information for anyone seeking it. Hopefully in easy to understand English.
I am highly experienced in cataract surgery and recently was a principal investigator
in research into the use of prophylactic antibiotics in cataract surgery.
This research
was run by the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and involved
16,000 patients recruited from 24 centres throughout Europe. Click here for Trial
