1. The Foldable Monofocal Lens is a bendable lens which folds up into a small roll and is inserted into the eye with the aid of a small applicator. Once the lens is placed into the eye, the lens unfolds and opens up to full size. This lens is designed to give good vision at a single distance, making objects in the distance clear.

2. The Multifocal Lens is designed to provide a range of vision. It provides clear distance vision similar to a monofocal lens and also gives good vision at close-up and mid-range. Ask your doctor regarding the cost.

3. The Acrysof of Natural IOL (Blue Lens) by Alcon is a foldable monofocal lens which filters both UV and blue light. Research results indicate that blue light may cause damage to the retina that could, potentially, contribute to macular degeneration or loss of vision. Blue light in your everyday environment includes sunlight and artificial lighting. This lens is transparent yellow - the colour necessary to filter blue light. The yellow tint does not alter the natural colour of things or the quality of your vision.

Choosing the lens that is right for you will depend on your lifestyle and the kinds of things you like to do i.e.  indoor and outdoor activities, driving, hobbies, sports or reading. I will discuss all of this with you to try and make sure you receive the lens best suited to the visual needs of your lifestyle.
